What is the significance of Hekate’s appearance and mentions throughout the works of Shakespeare and how might we use these dramatic works to enhance our practice? Drawing on recent explorations of the subject in their forthcoming book, So Potent Art: The Magic of Shakespeare, Emily Carding will take you on a fascinating exploration of some of Shakespeare’s hidden depths, unlocking gateways to a powerful portrayal of the divine feminine and world soul.

Emily Carding is an actor, writer, artist and priestess, and has been working with Hekate in all of these aspects for over a decade. As an actor they have appeared in versions of over twenty of Shakespeare’s plays, both on stage and screen and are best known for award-winning international tours of solo immersive adaptations of Richard III and Hamlet. They hold a BA (hons) in Theatre Arts from Bretton Hall and an MFA in Staging Shakespeare from the University of Exeter. 

Emily is a published creator of a number of highly popular Tarot decks including The Transparent Tarot and Tarot of the Sidhe, and author of esoteric works, including Faery Craft,(Llewellyn 2012) with So Potent Art: The Magic of Shakespeare due for release in 2021.
